Dr. Pepper Schwartz, AARP Love and Relationships Ambassador, received her PhD from Yale University and is a professor of sociology at the University of Washington in Seattle, with a special focus in personal relationships. She is a fellow of the International Academy of Sex Research and the past president of the society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality. Pepper has written 25 books, including two books on online dating: Finding Your Perfect Match and Prime: Adventures and Advice on Love, Sex and the Sensual Years. Also published in February 2013 is the New York Times Best Seller The Normal Bar: The Surprising Secrets of Happy Couples and What They Reveal About Creating a New Normal in Your Relationship. In addition to teaching, she serves as one the experts on Married at First Sight, a reality experiment in which singles volunteer to be matched up by experts and get married as complete strangers.
