Mike Miottel was the founding partner and President of MJM Management Company, LLC. The company started in 1986 . MJM specializes in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), consumable natural, gourmet and specialty food products sold to consumers through the US grocery and natural food channels. MJM Management is known as the next stage experts, taking start-ups into first markets, local companies into regional expansion and regional companies into national distribution. Clients vary in size from less than $200,000 to $25 million in annual sales. In 2019 MJM Management launched a brand new CPG company and in 11 months had it on shelf in over 5,000 stores. The great thing is Mikes experience is very current and can be applied to your brand. After 30 years running MJM Management and a total of 50 years in sales, Mike Miottel retired. The business is most recently headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona and is now run by Matt Miottel, Mike's son. Mike does keep his hand in the business but on a much reduced basis.

SCORE CLIENT EXPERIENCE Since coming to SCORE Mike has helped over 50 startups and next stage small businesses launch or expand. Clients are nation wide in scope.. He often works with other mentors to create a team approach to clients needs. MIke spent much of 2020 and early 2021 helping clients get through the Covid Pandemic by assisting them find funding to keep their businesses going.

Client Experiences There are 1,000s of really great products and product concepts that want to enter the consumer market place every year. Many of these products never get on the shelf or fail once there due to a lack of understanding the nuances of how the channels work and what the costs to achieve success will be. If positioned properly these new products can get on to the retailer shelf or into the mix online at Amazon or Walmart.com, where the consumers can find them. Getting products through the channels and onto the retail shelf is where I can help. Until a consumer can easily buy an item it can't succeed.
